Tim Hortons blocks access to legal cannabis sites on free WiFi service

The iconic Canadian coffee chain prevents patrons from accessing the websites of a number of licensed pot companies.

The iconic Canadian coffee chain, Tim Hortons has a filter on its free WiFi service that blocks patrons from accessing the websites of a number of licensed cannabis companies, Leafly reports.

Tweed’s consumer website and Aurora Cannabis’medical cannabis website is accessible. But those of licensed producers such as Canopy Growth Corp. are not — including other informative cannabis platforms such as Lift and Leafly itself. Ironically, a reporter for the latter was able to access multiple sites slinging illicit cannabis by mail.

Double-double drinkers are faced with an “Access to this page has been blocked due to inappropriate content” screen when attempting to log in.
