Two men to appear in Truro provincial court following police raids in multiple communities
TRURO, N.S. — An eight-month investigation by police in Colchester County has led to the arrest of 16 individuals.
On July 30 and 31, the Colchester RCMP street crime enforcement unit, with assistance from Truro and New Glasgow police, searched nine properties in Bible Hill, Truro, Kemptown, Greenfield and Harmony. Along with the arrests, police seized cocaine, methamphetamine, hashish, cannabis, two firearms, ammunition, brass knuckles, a stun gun and cash.
So far, two men are facing drug and weapons charges, but RCMP Cpl. Lisa Croteau said the investigation is continuing and further charges are pending.
Michael George Borden, 65, of Truro is charged with three counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and prohibited possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling.
Robert Lawrence Borden, 56, of Harmony is charged with two counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited and one count of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
